Im so disappointed and feeling ripped off. Payed half of 1850.00 up front for a timing seal . Manger calls me three days later on Friday at 4:30 and asked did I still want this done. I said yes I already payed . Next morning get a call from mechanic telling me my catalytic converter fell apart. Now he says I will need to pay an extra 2500. No thanks please put back together is what I said. Now I paid 925.00 for them to break my car more. Nothing is fixed and I hate mechanics. They wouldn't give me a receipt either.
We are very troubled that Jeremy feels the way he does. From our view he brought his vehicle in for an oil leak, we diagnosed it letting him know he had both a timing cover leak and a crankshaft seal leak; we then gave him a detailed written estimate. He approved the work. In the course of repairing the leaks we had to remove his exhausts pipes, when we did chunks of his catalytic converters feel out; we have numerous pictures of this. Previously, there were no indications of any problems with the CATS, no codes, no noise, nothing. We stopped work and called him expressing concern about proceeding, as the expense to replace the CATs was significant. We elected to let him know he had this problem before completing the repair. When we communicated to him about all this he was disappointed but to help we agreed we would finish repairing oil leaks and put the vehicle back together; which actually cost us more labor then he had paid for. At the time it seemed like he understood what had happened and appreciated that we were trying to do the best for him. Then we got this review which was very surprising. We also did send him an invoice.
