About 3 months after purchasing my 2007 Mazda3, the fan belt broke and my car overheated. This caused severe damage to my engine. I took it in to Milex and after repairing the coolant tank they determined there were still problems with the engine. Long story short, I was told I needed a new engine. Milex made this process as painless as possible. They found an engine, shipped it, and replaced it within a week. Due to some unforeseen complications, the labor took longer than expected. However, they did not charge me extra labor costs. They really worked with me and understood that I had invested a lot of money into repairs. They even gave me a ride back to work a couple times! I definitely recommend this shop. They are hardworking, honest, and care about their customers.

Bob at Milex - Mr Transmission is always our first call. He is honest, reliable and always lets us know the immediate need as well as future maintenance. He is never pushy or pressuring. His team does an excellent job! Were so glad we found them! We continue to send friends and family to him, and have only heard wonderful feedback.

Bob is great to work with, accommodating, honest and reliable. If it doesn't need to be done, he'll let you know and suggest working on only what is necessary or critical. They do solid work in a timely manner and at a fair price. I'll recommend Milex Transmission without hesitation for any auto repair work.

I was treated extremely well by the team - they went above and beyond to look at my car at the drop of a hat, offering to work with me outside of working hours and releasing my car without charge after discovering the issue needed to be handled by the Nissan dealer I had previously seen. Ultimately, I felt that the team was competent in their work, professional, and honest. A unique and much appreciated combination when dealing with potentially expensive repairs.

Beware if you are a young female asking for quote/service from this establishment. Bob quoted my young daughter a transmission fix at $2500. They had it for a week and no word on when it will be done; after multiple calls and voice mail messages from my daughter Bob finally returned her calls. Bob stated that he “misunderstood” what her timeline was. He thought “they could take their time” and keep her car for a month to complete repairs. Please note that Bob REQUIRED FULL PAYMENT UPFRONT FROM MY DAUGHTER in order for her to leave her car at the shop initially- before all the issues. She stated that she needed her car fixed right away. A few days later Bob calls my daughter back and COMPLETELY changes his quote to DOUBLE what was originally quoted. Stating that “the transmission is all clogged and it will take more money to fix it. To fix it would be $2200 (additional funds added to the $2500 she already paid). We want to work with you and will gladly take payments. Or you could opt to buy a new one for $6000.” To note- we have ALL THE RECORDED VOICEMAIL MESSAGES as well as recorded conversations with Bob. We have caught him in multiple lies. At this point we called another company in Milwaukie “Larry’s Transmission” and they said this was all a mess. First- there is NO way to install a brand new 2001 transmission. They don’t make them anymore!!!!! And- your quote is your bond: period; no matter what. FOUR days of calling Bob at Milex resulted in our learning that he had hired a THIRD PARTY to COMP out the work at another mechanic shop in Salem!!!! Bob “allowed” a PARTIAL refund to my daughter. In truth- he should have PAID her for their HORRIBLE service and deception. Two weeks later and FOUR more trips back to Milex due to Bob “misplacing” transmission parts that were part of her ORIGINAL transmission- my daughters car is now repaired from the Brilliant Team at Larry’s Transmission in Milwaukie. DO NOT USE MILEX!!!! They abuse young females of the decency they deserve and so desperately need. We are in process of filing a Better Businees Bureau claim against Milex and Bob to protect future encounters of this kind. STAY AWAY! That is unless you feel like being abused, taken advantage of and swindled. If so, then this is the place for you.

Kathy is Ester's Mother and has just placed another negative review on Ester's behalf. As I expressed in the previous response we ultimately tried to work this out with the customer and do all the work for the original estimate - which meant we lost big time on the job - but that offer was rejected. In the end we tried to remedy the situation to the best of our ability. There was absolutely no mis-information or trying to take advantage of anyone. Bob
